WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?
Long-time newsletter readers will know that we don’t venture out much in the darkest days of winter as a lot of venues are simply too cold to perform in!
But earlier this month we ventured over to The Point at Eastleigh for a concert in aid of the Mayor’s Appeal, raising nearly £600 in the process.
Here’s a photo form our performance – there’s a larger version in our 2014 gallery, along with others (scroll to the bottom of the page), including our rather surreal visit to the pub afterwards…

What’s been happening all day today is that we’ve been celebrating our 15th birthday – that’s right, 15 years of music making and 15 years of raising money for local good causes (over £60,000 so far!)

WHAT’S COMING UP?
Lots!
This Saturday (March 1st) we visit our friends at Dorset Guitar Society, at Kinson Community Centre, just north of Bournemouth. Booking details here (tickets available on the door)

Not content with driving through the New Forest twice in one evening, we’re doing it again a fortnight later on March 15th, when we return to Hythe, on the eastern edge of the New Forest… Booking details here (tickets available on the door)

And finally, on March 29th, we drive up to Basingstoke, to Queen Mary’s Hall (part of QMC) for what promises to be a rather interesting evening – we’re playing the first half of the concert, and the Basingstoke Rock Choir are playing the second half. Chalk and Cheese? Who knows. But the difference in volume will be rather noticeable!

JOIN US
From time to time we let it slip that we have a vacancy or two for someone wanting to join us.
People say it’s a massive commitment, but it’s 18 evenings a year to rehearse (and often to eat cake!) and 10 concerts (usually on Saturdays).
When we say “a vacancy or two”, that’s because, like a real orchestra, we have orchestrations that mean that two or three people play each line of our arrangements and right at the moment we could do with a bit more “oomph” in our B and C sections. Find out more about joining us on our website.
