Welcome to the many people who have subscribed since last issue. You’re all very welcome :-)

LATEST NEWS
We’ve been a bit quiet, but there’s a good reason for that – one of our concerts was a private booking.
As well as our Hythe concert that we mentioned in our last newsletter over the summer, we’ve played another private concert for the residents at the Star and Garter home in Richmond Surrey. These people are really quite severely disabled, but this, our second visit, had obviously seen the word put around about our unique sound – the audience was getting on for double the size of last time!

But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been working hard behind the scenes – more a bit further down the page!

Recent Concerts
Our concert in Hythe – a return visit as part of the URC’s concert series – was so warmly appreciated that already we have an invitation to return there for a third visit. You’ll be among the first to hear when the new date is confirmed

YouTube fun
Our “silent film” video which we mentioned last time (click here to view) is now one of the featured movies on the Exbury Gardens website. Recorded over 6 years ago, it features Cabasa as well as guitars.

WHAT’S COMING UP?
Our next big concert is in aid of The Rowans Hospice on Thursday November 18th. The ticket price, which was arguably rather expensive last time, has come down to £8 including refreshments, and even if you heard us last year, you’ll find that we’ve changed over a third of a our programme in the last 12 months!

REPERTOIRE
Our next concert will be your first chance to hear yet another gem of a piece – we premiered it at our private concert in Richmond, and despite one of the audience being convinced it was the theme from Z-cars, it’s from a much more long-standing programme than that! We’ve also added a couple of South American pieces to our play-list – pieces you won’t know, but which really are fun to listen to.

  3. 1973年（昭和48年）、北海道北見市の北見経済センターで新堀寛己（日本のギターオーケストラを創始、日本教育ギター連盟会長）とザ・ドリマーズ（新堀ギター女性合奏団）に初めてお会いしました。

    1974年（昭和49年）、新堀寛己指揮新堀ギター女性合奏団「ザ・ドリーズ」の英国公演はBBCが全ヨーロッパに放映しました。

    イングランドのハンプシャー・ギターオーケストラ（HAGO）の素晴らしい演奏を聴くたびに新堀寛己指揮/新堀ギター女性合奏団「ザ・ドリマーズ」を思い出す。
