Czech Cellist Frantisek Brikcius celebrates 100th anniversary of the birth of the British composer Benjamin Britten – BRITTEN100 in Prague (all three Solo Cello Suites + Tema ‘Sacher’).

You are invited to “FESTIVAL BRIKCIUS” – cello recital SOLO CELLO SUITES BY BENJAMIN BRITTEN, of the Czech cellist Frantisek Brikcius, held on Thursday 17th October 2013, 7.30pm, at the concert hall from the 13th century, the Stone Bell House (GHMP, Staromestske namesti 605/13, Praha 1, 110 00, Czech Republic, http://www.Brikcius.com/festival/2013.Koncert.Rijen.html).

Cellist Frantisek Brikcius will play all three solo cello suites by celebrating British composer Benjamin Britten (1913 – 1976). As a special encore he will perform Britten’s Tema ‘Sacher’. About Benjamin Britten see http://www.brikcius.com/News.uk.016.html#Meet and http://www.Britten100.org .

“Festival Brikcius” – the 2nd chamber music concert series at the Stone Bell House (spring & autumn 2013), is held under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague 1 Oldrich Lomecky, the Councillor of the City of Prague Vaclav Novotny, the Ambassador of the Embassy of Italy in Prague H. E. Pasquale D’Avino and in the cooperation with the Prague 1 and the City Gallery Prague this spring and autumn 2013, in exclusive location of the Stone Bell House, Old town square in Prague.

“Festival Brikcius” commemorates 100th anniversary of the birth of the British composer Benjamin Britten – BRITTEN 100, 100th anniversary of the birth of the Polish composer Witold Lutoslawski – 100/100 LUTOSLAWSKI, 140th anniversary of the birth of the German composer Max Reger and 170th anniversary of the birth of the Czech cellist and composer David Popper.
