“IT SOUNDED EVEN TIGHTER THAN LAST TIME”
That was just one of the comments from our concert 12 days ago in Hythe. And we think they’re right – a change in our line-up has given our sound a new clarity which we’re looking forward to showing you next time we meet.
We raised £478 for the URC’s Outreach fund – we really appreciate your support in making that happen!

“PLUCKED FROM THIN AIR”
What does that mean to you?
Do you think of someone making up numbers, a politician bluffing his way out of answering a question?
Or do you think of a magician – something coming from nowhere.
Or do you think of guitarists, making music appear without amplification?

Guess which one we’re going with!
One of the biggest problems we face in hago is the person who says “No, I won’t be coming to your concert because I don’t think I’ll like it”
Like a child with a new food, they won’t try it.
And so this is why we’ll be marketing future “concerts” as “performances” – trying to break down a rather silly prejudice that comes from combining the words “classical” and “guitar”!

WHAT’S COMING UP?
Saturday October 13th
Havant Rotary Club are hosts as we play for their chosen charity “Canine Partners” which helps with the training and provision of assistance dogs for people with a wide range of disabilities. It’s special for hago, because the concert is in Bedhampton, just a mile from our very first concert back in 1999.
Tickets in advance are £7.50 and again you will find booking details and directions to the venue on our concerts page.
Alternatively, if you’re undecided, you can come on the door.

Friday October 26th
We’re playing in a charity evening at the wonderful venue of the King’s Theatre, Southsea, one of the south’s finest theatre venues.
Tickets in advance are £10 and £12 and again you will find booking details and directions to the venue on our concerts page.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL GUITARISTS
We always welcome enquiries from guitarists who are Grade 5 or above and who want to work as part of a team of great people with a wonderful sense of humour. We have a page on our website that explains more.

If you play but not so fluently, our Musical Director offers a “mini-hago” – a much more informal chance to play ensemble music. Read more on the Guitar Workshop Website – it’s informal and fun, and with absolutely no pressure.

Our MD’s teaching practice is now full, apart from two day-time vacancies on Friday afternoons
